NEW ERA, NEW JUMPER

17 Feb 2018 by Benjamin Charles

After several weeks of opinions, comments and discussions, the new look playing jumper has finally be announced and there is quite a bit of excitement surrounding the the new era.

This new look helps the wave of young talent own the next steps forward and will help pave the way so we can continue pulling this jumper on for not only next season but, for many years to come!

Input from the past indicated many older supporters wanted to stay traditional to the RED & WHITE and the majority of our current group are wanting to adopt the suburbs traditional colours of Navy Blue to mark a new chapter and show a fresh beginning.

At the meeting last Wednesday the 7th of February, it was decided to find a compromise and merge the two jumpers together, in a way signifying a coming together of generations and showcasing the change to the community outside of our four walls.

The last 6 months has been about continued existence and everything is being done to build a club that won’t just survive but thrive into a “ONE CLUB” attitude, drawing resources from all individuals that have a connection to Sydney Cres.

I think everyone throughout the league is aware of what is being achieved to continue our club and, in part, is why we need a plan that surrounds re-branding and restoring the BLOODS from the ground up.

The club as a collective has taken MASSIVE strides forward in a very short time, the feeling is great at the moment and everyone is buzzing about the new direction… We still need to do more to ensure the jumper is brought to life though, the journey is just beginning and we will be asking for your commitment in the coming days…

This jumper discussion has been on the agenda for about 5 months now and as the current executive committee, we are extremely excited to be able to announce this to the public as it will promote that our club still has life, we do have a number of passionate supporters and a group of dedicated players that are sacrificing all they can to retain the Lalor name.

We still have a long way to go and the massive shift is starting to settle into a groove, the current playing group is taking it upon themselves to stay the course and owning the new colour adoption is a way to announce it’s this generations time to take the reigns.

We are all here for the same reason.

We love the Lalor Football Club and a jumper design will not change the history that has already been etched on to the walls, but to continue filling up those honour boards with names and history, in the social rooms we have all watched grow and collectively share, this is needed for continued growth.

Everyone needs to be involved and support our boys throughout this challenging year ahead.

They are not only playing for themselves but they are doing this for the mighty Lalor Football Clubs faithful supporters, families and history.

They are not taking this lightly…
Embrace the change.
