ROUND 7 IN REVIEW

28 May 2018 by Benjamin Charles

Thanks to LIFE MEMBER Cathy Langbourne for reading the sides and letting the boys know her long and decorated history at the club… Mother to 3 of our players, Cathys efforts never go unnoticed and it has been a highlight of the year so far to have her address the club.

Unfortunately, our round 7 showdown with Laurimar didn’t live up to expectations with our senior team being comprehensively out-played and well beaten by a much better side.

With such a young senior team, heavy losses are a reality as our developing players learn to play consistent good football…. however, what’s also a reality is that quality characters & youth can turn things around quickly – so watch this space!

A shining light on the weekend (and a good example of what youth & good character can bring) was the performance of first-gamer Hayden Pham who’s work rate, composure and skill belied his inexperience and was just reward for his efforts in the two’s and at training.

The reserves also suffered a loss on the weekend, however they put in a much-needed improved effort going down by 16 points. The return of Tim Peck being a highlight.

This week is a massive day for the club as we take on South Morang at home and celebrate our premiership years in the 90’s.

Anthony Koutafides will bethe feauture at the PREMIERSHIP LUNCHEON game a massive Reunion Dinner at OLYMPIC HOTEL will follow-on into the night.
